So, I had an IUD put in a few weeks ago, and felt some pretty hard cramping, etc, but I did a bunch of research on them and knew that was fairly normal. So, we had a follow up visit yesterday, but on Tuesday the pain was getting pretty bad and sometimes sharp. I called and they said to take some IB Profen. Then yesterday I went in and they couldn't find the strings, they sent me today to the hospital for an ultrasound to check on it. The ultrasound technician couldn't find it, so they sent me to have an abdominal CT. Well, the nurse from my OB/GYN's office just called, and apparently it punctured through the uterus and is somewhere in my abdominal cavity. The nurse said the exact name of the place it's in, but I can't remember what it's called. This complication is pretty rare, only 1 in 1000, and usually happens during insertion, but that didn't happen in my case. I'm scheduled to see my doctor on Monday. Not sure of everything that is going to happen, the doctor is supposed to call me back sometime today. I feel fine; I'm in a little pain but not too bad, but I find it strange that they are leaving it until Monday.
When it rains, it pours, right?
On the upside, Max is having a great birthday. Photos to come.
